| PA Voters Promote Joan Orie Melvin to Supreme Court | | Print | |

Joan Orie Melvin has been elected to Pennsylvania's highest court, defeating Democrat Jack Panella in a battle of two Superior Court judges. Her victory gives the Republicans a 4-3 edge on the Supreme Court, which could prove to be important with any redistricting that occurs following the 2010 Census. Orie Melvin is pro-life and describes herself as a strict constructionist. Pray that God will use her in a powerful way as a Supreme Court Justice over the next ten years. Information posted here earlier on the 2009 elections in Pennsylvania: A voter guide on the candidates for State Supreme, Superior, and Commonwealth courts as well as the Court of Common Pleas for each county has been produced by the Pennsylvania Family Institute. Don't forget to vote on Tuesday, November 3 - Polls are open statewide from 7 am to 8 pm.
