The United States Government consists of three branches, which are the Legislative (makes laws), Executive (enforces laws) and Judicial (interprets the laws).   The branches are intended to perform these functions as well as providing a check and balance on each other.    Our Founders pulled the three-branch idea from Isaiah 33:22, which says "For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king."

Executive Branch
The President and Vice President are elected every 4 years.
